Miss S Gets Rid of Her Negative Self Image - Boudoir By Kelli | New England Boudoir Photographer
Miss S came to us certain that things weren’t going to go the way she needed them to. Plagued by self-doubt and negative self-image, she was sure that the images weren’t going to come out well. To say she was surprised is an understatement! Read her own words below about how we were able to completely dismiss those awful voices in her said telling her she wasn’t worthy of being seen.
The sad part is, this is common for us to see. Society has taught us to ignore our power and hide. The things that we should be praising people for - childbirth, survival, age - are seen as undesirable. Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing a boudoir session?
“I was nervous I was going to feel uncomfortable, but as soon as I was in there, it was the exact opposite!”
How did the session make you feel?
“I went into the session with no self confidence, after having my baby I felt like m y body went downhill fast! But now after my session, I can actually love myself again!”
Did anything surprise you?
“After seeing my images, I was surprised that was me! Doing the poses, I didn’t feel like that’s how the images were going to come out.”
What would your advice to others be?
“Do the session!! It will be the best thing anyone could do for themselves!”
Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty / sexuality / sensuality / body confidence as a result of this session?
“Yes!!! After having my baby I lost my butt, my boobs are uneven, I have always thought my legs are too long, and so on.... but I feel like I am now confident in how I look. You took all the negative images I had of myself and showed my that some of t hose are my best qualities!”
What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
“Kelli makes you feel so comfortable and you don’t have time to even be nervous. It goes so quick and Kelli keeps you so busy that you literally forget you are even shy. I was so nervous I wasn’t going to be able to pose certain ways or that I was going to make weird faces and Kelli walks you through everything step by step!”
