Miss K Fights Her Anxiety - Boudoir By Kelli | New England Boudoir Photographer
Ms. K had every reason not to do a boudoir session, but she fought against her anxieties and joined us in the studio to remind herself that she is absolute perfection. The number one excuse for women not to do a boudoir session boils down to fear. Fear of hating what they see, fear of not knowing what to do in front of the camera, fear of seeing things they don’t want to see (hello, cellulite!).
Here, at Boudoir by Kelli, we want to help you re-frame your fear. Instead of being afraid of hating what you might see, be excited about the possibilities of seeing yourself through someone else’s eyes - eyes that are trained to accentuate and not diminish. Instead of being afraid of not know what to do in front of the camera, trust that we know exactly what we’re doing and will guide you every step of the way. Instead of being fearful of finding your faults, see the potential in accepting your body and your shape as it is (with a little bit of retouching, am I right?).
Did you have any obstacles or fears about doing a boudoir session?
“The kids, saggy mom skin, not at my ideal weight but also not doing anything about it, high anxiety, what if I didn't like the pictures.”
How did the session make you feel?
“Empowered, beautiful, confident, sexy... I've literally never been told I was flexible never mind "too flexible”!
Did anything surprise you?
“No! Watching the live feed and seeing everyone’s photos made it so that I got exactly what I expected!”
What would your advice to others be?
“Don’t let your anxiety stop you from this experience!”
Why would you suggest someone else book a session with Boudoir by Kelli?
“It’s empowering, it’s hard work, but the slideshow of your images will make you want to cry (I almost did). It’s a beautiful thing that Kelli and her team do for women.”
What would you say to people who say they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
“Leave it at the door! Do it! Be real and honest and so so confident.”
There’s so much room for rewriting the way you see yourself. Start with a boudoir session and see how quickly your narrative changes.
